EMT-P I/C-President/Primary Paramedic Instructor
Steve is the President and owner of Great Lakes EMS Academy. He received his EMT training through the U.S. Navy and Paramedic Training through Davenport CSEMS in 1987. Since that time he has worked in the Detroit EMS system and for American Medical Response (AMR) of West Michigan. He has been teaching Paramedic classes since 1998. Steve is an active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Instructor.
EMT-P I/C-Director of Operations/Lab Instructor
Melissa is the Director of the Academy and works as an instructor for both EMT and Paramedic courses. She attended Davenport CSEMS for her EMT Basic certification and Muskegon Community College for her Paramedic certification. She worked at American Medical Response from 1991-2010. While at American Medical Response, she worked as a Paramedic and Supervisor. In 2002 Melissa took a full-time position with Great Lakes EMS Academy. She is an active Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) Instructor.
EMT-P I/C, EMT Instructor/Lab Instructor
Leonard “Buzz” Goodblood is the primary EMT Instructor for Great Lakes EMS Academy. He has been a Paramedic since the early 80s, after graduating from Davenport CSEMS. During his career he has worked for Life EMS and American Medical Response. Buzz has been teaching at the Academy since 2000. At this time, he teaches both EMT and Paramedic courses.
EMT-P I/C, Clinical Coordinator/Lab Coordinator and Instructor
Amy is the Clinical and Lab Coordinator for the Academy and works as an instructor for both EMT and Paramedic courses. She attended Great Lakes EMS Academy for her Paramedic Training. She worked at American Medical Response from 2003 to 2007.
