EMT Training in Grand Rapids

The primary responsibility of an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for individuals who contact the emergency medical system. Great Lakes EMT Training in Grand Rapids equips students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide this type of patient care and transportation. EMTs are a part of an EMS response team, under medical supervision. Our EMT Training Program prepares our graduates for emergency medical intervention with the basic equipment located on an ambulance, through a combination of in-class training and clinical experience.

EMT Certification

Our EMT Classes in Grand Rapids are designed to prepare the student for the current testing process used by the State of Michigan. The EMT Classes offered are also a prerequisite for the Paramedic course also offered at Great Lakes EMS. We offer this EMT Certification Training program on a routine schedule at several times during the year. Hundreds of Great Lakes EMT Training graduates have successfully obtained their EMT Certification from the State of Michigan and have gone on to exciting careers in the EMS industry.

Prerequisites

The prerequisites for the EMT classes are a High School diploma or equivalent and current American Heart Association CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification.

Fall:

• September – February
• Tuesday/Thursday – 12:30pm-4:30pm or 6:00pm-10:00pm
• Plus 48 hour Clinical

Spring:

• February-June
• Tuesday/Thursday – 12:30pm-4:30pm or 6:00pm-10:00pm
• Plus 48 hour Clinical

Summer:

June-Aug
• Tuesday/Thursday – 10:00am-6:00pm
• Plus 48 hour Clinical
